Career

Twenty years of projects, and one break

I ran projects for Nike, Reebok, Merrell, Levi’s and adidas, between Paris, Amsterdam and Germany, managing annual budgets of up to €100M and teams spread across several countries.

In 2017, a health problem led me to reorganise my working life. I used the time to train in web development and to build an independent consulting practice, working with venues, cultural media and brands whose values I share.

Today I’m based in Marseille and involved in the life of my neighbourhood. I want to put that experience to work on projects that mean something, and on public-interest work.

My OETH status — France’s disabled-worker employment scheme — allows public-sector bodies to hire me directly on a contractual basis, outside the standard competitive examination route.

A role, or an assignment?

Both — and that isn’t indecision.

I’ve been doing the same job for twenty years: getting projects over the line when several parties, a budget and a deadline are involved. At adidas with several million euros, or for a cultural venue with a few thousand. The method doesn’t change; the setting does.

Some projects need someone for the long haul, in a permanent role — and that’s what I’m looking for first today, particularly in local public service. Others need someone for a limited time on a specific problem: that’s a consulting assignment, and I keep taking those on.

Either way, what decides is the project, not the contract.
